Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology, Pondicherry was established in the year 1999 by Sri Balaji Educational and Charitable Public Trust. It is also known as RGCET. It is a private college situated in Kirumampakkam, Puducherry. Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology, Pondicherry is affiliated to Pondicherry University, Puducherry. RGCET Pondicherry has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Infrastructure

RGCET is a member of the National Knowledge Network (NKN) which is a high-speed network backbone interconnecting major educational and research institutions. The college receives 40 Mbps of bandwidth from NKN. In addition, BSNL has provided a 100 Mbps internet connection. A firewall is used to monitor and manage all network traffic. To provide connectivity to various parts of the campus, a fiber-optic backbone has been installed.

The Cell arranges various workshops, which highlight the avenues and opportunities for the students by bringing eminent personalities and trainers from various Industries. T&P Cell is also responsible for maintaining Industry-Institutional Relationships through which it has approached many companies and brought them to the campus for recruitment.
