In 2003, the Vidya Jyoti Educational Society created the Hotel and Catering Management Institute (HCMI) to provide hospitality education. The institute is in Chandigarh and is connected with the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG-PTU). The institute currently provides UG, PG, and Diploma programs in Hotel Management.
All UG Courses are admitted based on the marks acquired in 10+2 from a recognized board.

The institute offers two years MHMC and MTTM. Candidates seeking admission to MHMC or MTTM must have completed graduation in any specialization from the recognized University. Candidates who have completed three years Diploma or Degree in Hotel/ Hospitality Management are eligible to do MHMC program on executive mode.
For MTTM, seats will be allotted on the basis of marks in graduation. Admission to MHMC will be done on the basis of marks obtained in entrance exam which is conducted by the institute itself.
