Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha is a Central University established by Parliament of India by an Act No. 3 of 1997. It is located at Wardha, Maharashtra. It is 70 kms. away from Nagpur. Sevagram and Wardha are two near railways station.
It has been a fervent desire of the national leaders and Hindi lovers that Hindi should take its rightful place on the international stage of the United Nations Organization as a medium of expression of the feelings and thoughts of Indians. On the other hand, he also thought that an International Secretariat of Hindi should be established for coordinating the linguistic exchanges between persons of Indian origin spread not only abroad but all over the world.
To promote and develop the Hindi language and literature and for that purpose to provide facilities for teaching and research in relevant branches of learning. To provide for the active pursuit of comparative studies and research in Hindi and other Indian languages. To provide facilities for the development and dissemination of relevant information in the country and abroad.
